Thirteen Reasons Why People Don't Do What They Are Supposed To

The 13 reasons are very interesting and offer you a cool opportunity to drive improvement so I though I would share it with you.

1. They don't know they should do it.
2. They don't know how to do it.
3. They don't know what they are supposed to do.
4. They think your way will not work.
5. They think their way is better.
6. They think something else is more important.
7. There is no positive outcome to them for doing it.
8. They think they are doing it.
9. They are rewarded for not doing it.
10. They are punished for doing it.
11. They anticipate negative consequences.
12. No negative consequences exist for poor attempts.
13. Obstacles exist that exceed their control.

The challenge is to look at each situation you encounter and determine which of the reasons noted here is most accurate. Once you have done that, you need to determine the approach and intervention needed to generate the results you are seeking.
